'Deli: Failure or Fortune,' a Unique Broadcast Hosted by Progressive Grocer

Execution is everything. In the deli, this includes products, service and experience. A shopper’s experience in the deli, with its complex product mix and high level of service, can make or break the entire shopping trip.

Progressive Grocer will host a one-of-a-kind live broadcast on April 28, featuring deli industry leaders in a spirited exchange on consumers’ engagement with the in-store deli, and strategies for securing grocery retail’s share of the American food dollar.

Tyson Foods, sponsor of Deli: Failure or Fortune, has invested heavily in research around consumers’ relationship with prepared foods from retail deli, including: On-the-Go Foodservice, which captures consumers’ path-to-purchase dinner; Consequences of Failure details the impact of a disappointing deli experience; and In-store Observational research on deli operational, product and staffing metrics. Combined, this valuable research demonstrates the importance of executing against consumer expectations and the consequences of failure.

Join Joan Driggs, editorial director of Progressive Grocer; Eric Le Blanc, VP of marketing for convenience store, deli & bakery of Tyson Foods Inc.; Michael Eardley, president and CEO of the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association; and Christopher Brace, founder and CEO of Shopper Intelligence, for Deli: Failure or Fortune, April 28 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT/11 a.m. PST.
