CVS Re-files Eckerd Acquisition Plan
WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Drugstore chain CVS on Friday voluntarily re-filed paperwork with the Federal Trade Commission regarding its plan to purchase approximately 1,260 Eckerd stores from retailer J.C. Penney.
Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based CVS originally filed its intention to buy the stores, which are located in the South, on April 16.
The re-filing move, which comes after regulators had additional questions regarding the $2.15 billion acquisition plan, gives the FTC time to review the paperwork and determine if it will need to formally request more information, CVS said in a company statement.
