C&S Buys Edsung Foodservice Co.

C&S Wholesale Grocers’ wholly-owned subsidiary Hawaiian Housewares is acquiring Edsung Foodservice Co., based in Honolulu.

The sale is expected to close in late April, and Edsung will be consolidated into the Hansen Distribution Group, a division of Keene, N.H.-based C&S. The consolidation will provide operational efficiencies, increased purchasing power and product breadth as well as opportunities for continued growth, the company said.

Edsung was founded in 1946 by Sungdai Choi and services all of Hawaii, specializing in bakery and restaurant supplies.
