Deal increases TOLC’s frozen and refrigerated capabilities for retail

Tree of Life’s Netherlands-based parent company, Royal Wessanen nv, has agreed to sell its natural and specialty food distribution businesses in North America, including Tree of Life U.S. and Tree of Life Canada, to Romeoville, Ill.-based Kehe Food Distributors, Inc. The deal is expected to close early next year.

Tree of Life, Inc. has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry, designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
