BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores said yesterday it has launched a line of private label compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) under the Great Value brand label. The energy-efficient light bulbs are hitting shelves in more than 3,000 Wal-Mart stores and Supercenters nationwide, and they're being sold at the value price of four bulbs for the cost of three regularly priced brand name CFLs, according to Wal-Mart.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Marsh Supermarkets, Inc. here said it will shutter 12 of its grocery stores and four convenience stores throughout Indiana and Ohio by Thanksgiving.

INDIANAPOLIS -- David Marsh, former president and c.o.o. of the Marsh Supermarket chain here, and member of the Marsh family, is suing the company, alleging that the cash-strapped chain shortchanged him in severance pay and benefits, to the tune of more than $33,000 a year.

INDIANOPOLIS -- Marsh Supermarkets Inc. on Friday said it has begun to mail the definitive proxy materials in connection with the shareholder vote on the $11.125-per-share acquisition of the company by MSH Supermarkets Holding Corp., an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc.
