Coalition for Responsible Transportation Names Target VP Chairman

The Coalition for Responsible Transportation (CRT), a coalition of the nation’s largest beneficial cargo owners, ports, ocean carriers, rail and trucking providers, has elected Target Corp.’s VP of internal logistics, Joshua Dolan, as its board chairman. He succeeds Rick Gabrielson, transportation VP at Mooresville, N.C.-based home improvement chain Lowe’s.

In his new role, Dolan will oversee CRT’s national initiatives to implement market-based approaches to improve air quality, reduce port congestion and enhance infrastructure connectors in and around the United States’ ports. His current position at Minneapolis-based Target has him responsible for the successful sourcing, integration and execution of international distribution and transportation operations.

Gabrielson worked hard to help CRT further meet its goal of furthering environmental sustainability and supply chain efficiency. During his tenure, the Sacramento, Calif.-based coalition launched a national partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund to develop port emission reduction programs, championed the development of the U.S. EPA SmartWay Program for drayage trucks and led congestion reduction initiatives at ports across the country.
