Campbell Names Prez, Greater China and Far East

Campbell Soup Co. has appointed James Wong its president, greater China and Far East, effective Jan. 1, 2014. In his new role, Wong (left) will oversee the Camden, N.J.-based company’s business in greater China, the Campbell-Swire joint venture, and Campbell’s operations in the Far East, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Based in Campbell’s Shanghai office, Wong will report to Luca Mignini, president − Campbell International.

“James is a well-rounded leader with P&L management, sales and marketing experiences across greater China,” noted Mignini. “His expertise in building share and driving sales, combined with his deep knowledge of the rapidly changing Chinese market, will be an asset to Campbell as we expand in this important, fast-growing region.”

Global Experience

Bringing more than two decades of global consumer goods industry experience to his latest position, Wong was most recently executive director and general manager, greater China for SC Johnson. In that role, he was responsible for developing the company’s long-term strategy for China, where he managed a cross-functional business. Wong joined SC Johnson in 2001 and held commercial, sales and general management roles of increasing seniority.

Earlier, Wong held general management, marketing and sale roles across Asia with such international companies as Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Duracell and Nestlé.

His academic honors include having completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
