Campbell Soup Co. has appointed Adam Kmiec its director, digital marketing and social media. Kmiec will head Campbell’s digital marketing and social media efforts to boost consumer demand and build equity for the food company and its brands.
In his new role, Kmiec (left) will head a worldwide digital marketing and social media strategy encompassing both consumer-facing communications and corporate initiatives. This will involve providing leadership, coordination and oversight of Campbell’s digital and social media activities and policies. He will report to Andrew Brennan, VP, global strategy, advertising and design, and will be based at company headquarters in Camden, N.J. Kmiec will work closely with global communications, consumer affairs, investor relations, public affairs and corporate responsibility functions and business unit marketing teams.
“Adam brings a great deal of experience to Campbell, including a broad marketing background and a specific expertise in digital and social media,” noted Brennan. “Throughout his career, Adam has helped a variety of consumer brands establish and expand their digital marketing efforts, and I am confident that he will help Campbell do the same. A major focus of our growth strategy is to strengthen our brand and product equities by connecting with new consumers in new ways. Adam will play an important role in this effort.”
“Our opportunity to engage consumers in new and innovative ways is limitless,” added Kmiec, who joins Campbell from Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens, where as director, social media, he established programs that helped advance the company’s digital marketing efforts, as well as implementing and overseeing social media policies and governance across corporate communications and nearly 8,000 retail locations.
A regular speaker at industry conferences Kmiec has diverse experience with interactive agencies, consultancies and corporations. Before Walgreens, he was SVP of interactive marketing innovation at Pittsburgh-based communications agency MARC USA and manager of interactive marketing at Omaha, Neb.-based ConAgra Foods. Earlier in his career, Kmiec worked for Draft Worldwide, Leo Burnett and Fallon.
