Campbell Appoints V.P. of Customer Business Development and Industry Relations

CAMDEN, N.J. - Campbell Soup Co. has appointed Richard Smith, formerly v.p. of Campbell Sales, to the newly created position of v.p. of customer business development and industry relations. Smith will report to Mike Salzberg, s.v.p. - U.S. Sales.

In this position Smith will be responsible for working with Campbell senior executives and team leaders to create initiatives that both drive sales and deepen Campbell's strategic relationships with key customers.

In announcing Smith's appointment, Larry McWilliams, president of Campbell's USA, said, "Richard is uniquely qualified for his new role. He's an icon within Campbell's, with broad-based experience matched by few. In addition, he's widely respected by leaders in our industry."

Smith joined Campbell in 1972 as a sales representative. During his 32-year career with the company, Smith has led several sales functions, and was most recently in charge of the Wholesale Team. Smith has both extensive field and corporate sales leadership experience.
