Buy For Less Deploys Ergonomic Hand-held Computers

Buy For Less, an Oklahoma-owned and -operated independent grocer, recently deployed a new handheld device for in-store and backend operations at all of its 14 stores.

The grocer is working with Woodbury, N.Y.-based Janam’s XG100, a rugged gun-shaped mobile computer which the company said is the only one of its kind with the battery positioned inside the pistol grip. This lowers the product's center of gravity and makes it light and balanced in the hand, maximizing worker comfort and productivity.

"The Janam XG100 wireless device allows us to leverage newer, better technologies and features that are more user friendly and ultimately provide greater value to our guests," said Jared Black, director of information technology at Buy For Less.

Buy for Less operates 14 stores throughout the Oklahoma City metro area and employs more than 1,100 people.
