Brookshire’s Unveils 'Spokes-baby'

To help celebrate its new Baby Club program, Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire's has named its first-ever spokes-baby.

The winning baby is Kennedy Gilstrap, an 11-month-old from Flint, Texas. She was selected from more than 850 children whose parents submitted their photos online. Customers voted for the winner out of 20 finalists.

Rick Ellis, VP of marketing for Brookshire Grocery Co., presented baby Gilstrap with a $10,000 check. She also received spokes-baby status and will appear in future promotional materials in Brookshire’s stores, as well as in the July issue of Celebrate Cooking magazine. The 19 runners-up received 5,000 yourpoints.

“Brookshire’s is committed to serving families in the areas where we operate, and we look forward to providing more benefits to parents with small children,” Ellis said. “We congratulate Kennedy and look forward to having her represent Brookshire’s as our official spokes-baby.”

Brookshire’s Baby Club kicked off in February in all 120 Brookshire’s supermarkets that operate across Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. The club is designed to help customers with small children save money on baby care items.

Anyone with a child under the age of three is eligible for membership, which includes a welcome gift, a birthday gift, monthly e-newsletters with tips and money saving offers, and other exclusive savings year-round. In addition, club members can earn 100 bonus yourpoints on every $50 purchase of qualifying baby care items with their Thank You Card.

Brookshire’s also offers the Danger Rangers Kids Club for children ages 3-10.
