Brookshire Grocery Co. Benefit Tourney Raises $450K

Brookshire Grocery Co.’s recent 26th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament raised more than $450,000 for various children’s charities in the Tyler, Texas-based retailer's geographic trading area. This year’s tournament took place at six golf courses in the Tyler area, including Hollytree, Cascades, Willow Brook, Garden Valley, Eagles Bluff, and Pine Dunes country clubs.

An appreciation dinner at Harvey Convention Center followed the tournament to recognize the 600 individuals who participated, included BGC's numerous manufacturer and vendor partners.

"This tournament is one of our largest donation efforts, and allows us to partner with our vendors and other business associates each year in support of a very worthy cause — helping children and their families,” said BGC President and CEO Rick Rayford. “Last year’s record-breaking donation of $450,000 further proves the commitment from our company and our vendor-partners to serving those in need in our communities.”

During the event, Rayford presented a check representing the proceeds to some of the event's benefactors, including Children’s Miracle Network, Boys and Girls Clubs, Children’s Advocacy Centers and Discovery Science Place.

Since its inception, the Brookshire’s Benefit Golf Tournament has raised more than $3.8 million for nonprofit children’s organizations in the three states where BGC operates stores.

Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 152 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as three distribution centers and seven manufacturing facilities.
