BJ’s to Offer In-store Dunkin’ Donuts Locations
BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. plans to replace many of its more than 180 in-store food courts with Dunkin’ Donuts kiosks or shops, according to a published report.
“We thought a partnership worked for everyone involved,” Christopher Baldwin, CEO of Westborough, Mass.-based BJ’s, told The Boston Globe. The warehouse club chain's headquarters is located just 25 miles from Dunkin’ Donuts’ Canton, Mass., base.
Although the exact number of Dunkin’ Donuts locations within BJ’s clubs hasn’t been revealed yet, the first two will be in Kearney, N.J., and Northborough, Mass. “Other locations will likely open prior to the holiday season,” Dunkin’ Donuts spokeswoman Michelle King told the Globe.
When contacted by Progressive Grocer, another BJ's spokeswoman confirmed the companies' partnership, saying, "Dunkin' is an outstanding brand, which provides superior service, products and value, making it an excellent fit with our members." She further noted that the Kearney location -- BJ's newest club -- would debut later this summer with a Dunkin' Donuts shop already in place.
