BJ's Names New Director to Board
NATICK, Mass. -- BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. said yesterday that Edmond J. "Ted" English had been elected to its board of directors, effective as of the company's board meeting set for Sept. 27. English is the former president and c.e.o. of The TJX Cos., Inc., a position he held from 2000 to 2005.
BJ's president and c.e.o. Mike Wedge, said English's contributions will include his "ability to analyze and apply new and innovative merchandising principles to store operations."
English is also a member of the board of directors of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, a member of the board of trustees of the Boston Medical Center, and a member of the board of trustees at Northeastern University.
BJ's operates 165 warehouse clubs in 16 states.
