Big Y Buys 33rd Pharmacy

Big Y Foods has purchased Vincent's Pharmacy in Rockville, Conn., marking the chain's 33rd Y Pharmacy. The former owners, pharmacists Steve Marcham and Frederick Arzt, along with their trained staff, will remain at the location on 38 Main Street where their business opened 2000. The site has operated as a pharmacy since 1864.

Any prescriptions already at Vincent's will automatically be transferred to the Y Pharmacy. Additionally, the pharmacy will continue to offer free delivery, and its phone number will stay the same. The location will be open seven days a week

Springfield, Mass.-based Big Y operates 58 stores throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts, with over 9,800 employees.
