Bi-Lo to Open Two More Clinics in S.C. Stores

MAULDIN, S.C. -- Bi-Lo Supermarkets here is opening additional Wellspot Medical Clinics, in two stores the Simpsonville, S.C. area. These locations mark the second and third in-store clinics now open in the South Carolina.

“These centers are designed for maximum convenience and efficiency,” said Bi-Lo president and c.e.o. Dean Cohagan in a statement. “We realize it can be hard to get a doctor’s appointment quickly, but when you are sick, effective, convenient care is a must. The idea is to provide our customers and the community at large a convenient and inexpensive health care option in one time-saving stop.”

Wellspot Medical Clinics are staffed with family nurse practitioners who provide diagnosis and treatment for common family illnesses such as strep throat, allergies/sinus infections, stomach viruses, flu, pink eye, and other common but irritating conditions. Wellspot also provides diagnostic tests, immunizations, vaccinations, physicals, and wellness programs such as smoking cessation and weight loss management.

The in-store clinics are open seven days a week (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

Bi-Lo operates 308 stores in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida.

Wellspot Medical Clinics operates 11 clinics in Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee with plans for 25 operating clinics by the first quarter of 2007.
