AWG Names Member Services VP
Associated Wholesale Grocers has promoted Jeff Pedersen to the newly created position of senior vice president of member services.
In this new role, Pedersen will have responsibility for strategic and managerial oversight of corporate sales and development, education and training, and communications.
Pedersen has worked at AWG since 1997 in a variety of leadership roles, most recently senior VP and division manager in Oklahoma City. Pedersen began his grocery career in 1976 with Hinky Dinky and worked at Bag-n-Save and Hy-Vee Inc. before joining AWG.
Danny Lane, currently VP of merchandising and marketing, will replace Pedersen as senior VP and division manager. Lane has served a variety of senior-level positions in retail and wholesale grocery, dating back to 1982.
Established in 1926, Kansas City, Kan.-based AWG serves 600 independent member-owners with more than 2,400 retail outlets in 21 states.
