Australia's BIG W to Pilot NCR Self-checkout
SYDNEY - BIG W, a division of Woolworths Limited, will early next year become the first retail chain in Australia to pilot NCR FastLane self-checkout at two of its New South Wales stores.
Each of the stores will have four NCR FastLane self-checkout units and one attendant station.
"Giving our customers the option to check their purchases out themselves is an added convenience that supports our objectives to provide them the best service possible in BIG W stores," said BIG W general manager Marty Hamnett.
NCR FastLane technology is now being used by more than 40 retailers globally.
Big W is a discount department retailer operating 103 outlets throughout Australia.
