Associated Wholesale Grocers Continues AquiTec Rollout in Nashville

KANSANS CITY, Kan. - Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc., a retailer-owned grocery wholesaler serving more than 1,200 stores in a 21-state distribution area, has successfully gone live with Chicago-based AquiTec International's Procurement solution in its newly acquired Nashville division.

AWG has been running AquiTec's Procurement solution in its Limited Assortment and Memphis divisions, and the success of these implementations drove the decision to roll out the solution to Nashville.

The wholesaler anticipates generating new revenue and growth opportunities through improved operational efficiencies in the fulfillment areas. "The AquiTec solutions are enabling us to achieve higher levels of performance by giving us an industry best-of-breed application set," said Keith Martin, c.i.o. of AWG. "The AWG technology vision is moving forward to accommodate our growth plans, and we are excited about AquiTec's ability to deliver solutions that further excel our ability to satisfy our supply-and-demand chain needs."

AquiTec's order management and billing solution will manage AWG's end-to-end visibility from receiving through to the invoicing of customer orders. The procurement application will administer the supplier relationship from forecasting through to purchase order and deal/promotions management.

AWG also plans to implement AquiTec's procurement and order management solutions in its other distribution buying center facilities.
