Associated Food Stores, C&S Wholesale Grocers Sign Supply Agreement

Associated Food Stores LLC has signed an agreement under which C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. will be its primary supplier. Keene, N.H.-based C&S will provide warehouse, transportation and procurement services.

"With the acquisition of the assets of our former supplier White Rose, C&S has demonstrated a strong commitment to servicing the New York metro market and the hundreds of independent stores we represent," said Bob Sigel, president of Hewlett, N.Y.-based Associated Food Stores, which licenses the Associated, Compare, Met, Met Fresh and Metropolitan City Markets banners to more than 350 independently owned and operated supermarket in the New York tri-state area.

C&S is the largest wholesale grocery supply company in the United States, supplying 5,000 independent supermarkets, chain stores, military bases and institutions, with more than 150,000 products.
