A&P Opts for Innovatix’s Specialty Pharmacy Services
The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Inc. (A&P) has signed a three-year agreement with Innovatix LLC, a full-service non-acute care group purchasing organization, under which Innovatix will be the grocer’s exclusive provider of specialty pharmacy services.
“Innovatix is confident that its experience collaborating with key stakeholders in the specialty market, together with its ability to manage complex purchasing data, will prove valuable as A&P grows its specialty pharmacy business,” said Innovatix President and CEO John P. Sganga.
Easy Access
With Innovatix Specialty Pharmacy Management, A&P will have access to specialty medications, as well as such critical back-office services as dispensing, data management, clinical and reimbursement support, and patient financial assistance. Further, the grocer will be able to use the large contract portfolio of total business solutions Innovatix shares with its national partner Premier Inc.
“The expertise and resources that Innovatix offers will assist us with providing product as well as full medication therapy management support for our patients,” noted Robin Page, VP of pharmacy at Montvale, N.J.-based A&P.
A&P operates more than 300 stores in six states under the A&P, Best Cellars, Food Basics, The Food Emporium, Pathmark, Superfresh and Waldbaum’s banners.
New York-based Innovatix serves more than 17,500 non-acute care facilities across the United States, including long-term care, specialty and infusion pharmacies, in addition to nursing homes and assisted-living facilities.
