A&P Celebrates Best Cellars’ First N.J. Store with ‘Sopranos’ Actor and Rao’s Co-owner Frank Pellegrino
Customers at A&P’s brand-new Best Cellars location in Westwood, N.J. – the first in that state – will be treated to a special guest star: Frank Pellegrino, perhaps best-known for his recurring role as Det. Frank Cubitoso on “The Sopranos,” but also a restaurateur and cookbook writer of note.
In celebration of the store’s grand opening, Pellegrino, co-owner of Rao’s restaurant in New York, will be on hand today from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to sign autographs and preside over a sampling of Rao’s sauces and wines, which will also be available for purchase at the store. The event will also feature entertainment and giveaways, according to A&P.
Unlike most wine retailers, which group product by region or grape variety, Best Cellars, which A&P acquired late last year, arranges its over 150 in-store selections according to taste and style, with such easy-to-understand categories as Big, Luscious, Fizzy, Fresh, Soft, Juicy, Smooth, and Sweet.
Pellegrino’s numerous credits also include “GoodFellas,” “Mickey Blue Eyes,” and the TV shows “Law & Order” and “Third Watch.”
