Anuj Dhanda Departs Giant Eagle for Albertsons/Safeway
Anuj Dhanda has joined Boise-based Albertsons Cos. as its new EVP/CIO. Most recently, he served as CIO and SVP of digital commerce since 2013 for Giant Eagle Inc., based in Pittsburgh.
Earning his undergraduate degree in commerce from the University of Delhi and an MBA and Ph.D. in finance from Rutgers University, Dhanda began his career as a consultant with KPMG in Bahrain in 1984, and later joined JP Morgan Chase before moving to PNC Financial Services Group, where he rose to the position of EVP and CIO, followed next by his executive role at Giant Eagle.

Dhanda will begin his new role on Dec. 7.
Albertsons Cos. operates stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia under 18 banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market and Carrs.
