Anti-Wal-Mart Groups to Stage Rallies on Health Care

WASHINGTON -- As part of their nationwide campaign to "Help Cure the Wal-Mart Health Care Crisis," grassroots supporters of WakeUpWalMart.com, local Change to Win federation members, workers, and community activists are planning to lead public rallies in 35 cities across the United States in a national day of action, WakeUpWalMart.com said yesterday.

The event is the first coordinated national action involving the new Change to Win federation, which said it represents more than six million workers.

Speakers at the rally will discuss what they call the "Wal-Mart Health Care Crisis." WakeUpWalMart.com claims that Wal-Mart fails to provide company health care to 57 percent, or more than 775,000, of its employees and their families.
