Andronico’s Bids Farewell to FitBank Challenge

Andronico’s Community Market launches its final FitBank Fitness Challenge, with cash rewards for store customers and employees in exchange for working out – rewards range from $15 for three workouts up to $50 for seven workouts. The last challenge kicks off Dec. 11 and runs through the final weeks of business..

Participants log their workouts through check-ins with Fitbank.Works Global Gym. The FitBank program began this past January with more than 1,000 participants signing on.

The five-store Andronico’s chain, which recently was acquired by Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway and will cease operations at the close of the year to be rebranded as Safeway Community Markets, has named this final challenge #RIPACM, and it's a key element of #Androniclose, the company’s lighthearted marketing campaign during its final days. E-blasts and social media posts encourage participants to “get ripped” while in-store signage calls out RIP Andronico’s.
