Andronico’s Begins Third Fitness Challenge
As part of CEO Suzy Monford’s commitment to “Bring Healthy Back,” Andronico’s Community Market launched its third round of its FitBank Fitness challenge. Sponsored by Organic Girl and Vega Protein Powder, the challenge is open to employees and customers and runs from April 3-30.
Participants log their workouts through check ins with the Sweat.Works Global gym app and receive rewards based on the number of gym visits. Prizes are offered weekly and included a complete Seafood Bag 'n Bake meal with reusable tote bag, a single serving pack of Vega Vegan protein powder, a 4-ounce container of Organic Girl pepper greens and a 12-ounce bag of Organic Girl romain hearts. Those that hit the gym more than four times a week receive bonuses that include gift cards in increments up to $64.
The program encourages both those already living a fit lifestyle and those needing some inspiration to get moving. “We wanted to create something really innovative for our local community to live a healthier lifestyle and so far it’s going great; people are really responding to the extra incentive,” said Bridget Kwok, director of marketing for Andronico’s.
The grocer initially launched its FitMarket program in its five Bay area stores in September 2015; its two previous FitBank challenges attracted hundreds of participants.
