Aldi to Open DC in Moreno Valley, Calif.
Aldi has said it is developing plans to expand its foot print to Southern California, and will open a distribution center in Moreno Valley in 2014.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the Batavia, Ill-based grocer will invest $55 million to build the 935,000-square-foot complex, which will also serve as its regional headquarters.
With more than 1,200 stores across 32 states, Aldi has added, on average, 80 new stores per year over the last several years, and serves more than 25 million customers each month.
Aldi offers more than 1,400 grocery items, including fresh meats, fruits, vegetables and bakery products under the grocer’s exclusive brands.
