Aldi to Introduce New Look in Ohio Store

WAPAKONETA, Ohio -- Global discount operator Aldi Group will unveil a new look when it opens its doors at a store here in March.

In published reports, Aldi real estate director Leann Wheeler was quoted as saying that the five-aisle, 15,800-square-foot store being built is a new prototype layout for the chain. She described it as a "fresher look than in the past," with restrooms placed up front instead of on the side of the store; a new, larger cooler and freezer section; new merchandising fixtures and displays; new, lighter colors and graphics; and new lighting.

The company is hoping the fresh colors will bring a fresh mindset to potential customers in the area, Wheeler said.

Aldi has more than 750 stores in the United States.
