Albertsons Joins Richard Petty Motorsports to Sponsor Brian Scott

Albertsons Cos. will partner with Richard Petty Motorsports and its No. 44 team and driver Brian Scott. The fellow Idaho native will be making his team debut in February's season opener Daytona 500 and will compete for Rookie of the Year.

Albertsons Cos. will join Shore Lodge, another Idaho-based company, to adorn the hood of the No. 44 Ford Fusion for 16 races and have associate placement for the remaining 20 races, along with Twisted Tea, GoBowling.com and Goody's throughout the 2016 season.

The new alliance "provides Albertsons with an important opportunity to link our Idaho roots and our banners with the best in motorsports," said Shane Sampson, EVP and chief marketing and merchandising officer for Albertsons, which operates more than 2,276 stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia under 18 banners.

Scott will hit the track in the No. 44 Albertsons/Shore Lodge Ford on Sunday, Feb. 21 for the 58th Annual Daytona 500.
