Albertsons to Consolidate Corporate Ops in Texas

The Albertsons Cos. has plans for corporate consolidation in Texas, where it will merge its Houston operations with its office in Fort Worth and distribution center in Roanoke, According to The Dallas Morning News.

Expected to end with a loss of 205 jobs, the merger will take three months for offices and longer for the distribution center, the newspaper reported. Some jobs will come to north Texas as a result, however.

Following the merger, Roanoke's distribution center will supply Albertsons, Tom Thumb and Randalls stores across Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, the news outlet reported. Currently, Albertsons has 29 Randalls stores in Houston and 15 in Austin, as well as 64 Tom Thumb locations and 42 of its namesake stores in north Texas.
