Albertsons, Coca-Cola Launch ‘Summer of Selfies’ Campaign


Albertsons and Coca-Cola are helping shoppers celebrate the summer by giving them a chance to win a $75 Albertsons gift card by doing what comes naturally to anyone with a mobile device during the summer – taking selfies.

Every day during its “Summer of Selfies” campaign -- which started this past Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day -- shoppers can use the hashtag #AlbertsonsSelfies to post a photo to their Instagram or Facebook account. They can also upload and submit the photo on the Summer of Selfies page. Entrants can win multiple times during the promotion, but not multiple days in a row. 

“We’ve seen great levels of customer engagement with the Summer of Selfies,” said Karl Meinhardt, VP of digital marketing for Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons LLC. “As we move to our 'themed' weeks of the campaign we expect to have customers share their in-store experiences with us as well. We believe this will make shopping in our stores just that much more fun and exciting because they can submit their Selfie for a chance to win a $75 gift card for their store.”
