The Albertsons Cos. LLC has added Apple Pay to all banners -- more than 2,300 stores nationwide.

A new feature at checkout stands that already has been available to customers at the grocer's Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Star Market, Haggen and United stores, Apple Pay is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that’s also fast and convenient for customers. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are encrypted and securely stored in the Secure element on the user’s device rather than being stored as-is on the device or Apple servers. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.

Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards. In stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later and Apple Watch.

"We are focused on meeting our customers wherever and however they like to shop," said Anuj Dhanda, EVP and CIO at Albertsons Cos. "We are pleased to enhance that experience by offering Apple Pay across all of our stores. Customers want faster, time-saving options that are stable and secure. Apple Pay satisfies that need and fits in well with our omni-channel shopping solutions."

Based in Boise, Idaho, Albertsons Cos. operates stores across 35 states and Washington, D.C., under 20 banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen and Carrs.
