Ahold Could Replace Supervisory Board Chair

5/30/2014

Rob van den Bergh will replace, on an interim basis, Jan Hommen as chairman of Ahold's supervisory board, subject to Hommen’s appointment as CEO of KPMG on June 14. Van den Bergh is currently chairman of the board’s remuneration committee.

If elected to head the audit, tax and advisory services firm at that time, Hommen will temporarily step down as chairman, but remain a member of the retail conglomerate's supervisory board. Both Ahold and KPMG are based in Amsterdam.

A member of the board since 2011, van den Bergh brings to the position broad experience in executive and nonexecutive positions, including a stint as CEO of VNU N.A., a former parent company of Progressive Grocer, among other publications.
