AGNE Promotes 2
Associated Grocers of New England (AGNE) promoted Cindy Caldwell to VP of finance and Chris Lyle to comptroller, effective March 30.
"These promotions demonstrate AGNE's commitment to building and maintaining a strong and dynamic financial management team,” said Steve Murphy, SVP/treasurer and CFO at the Pembroke, N.H.-based wholesaler. “It’s especially gratifying to me that both of these women were promoted from within having each been with the Company for over 20 years. To me, that speaks volumes about opportunity and dedication.”
Years of Dedication
Caldwell joined AGNE's accounting group in 1988, shortly thereafter taking on the management of the accounting department, and eventually of credit and retail bookkeeping as well. During this time, she not only strengthened the financial reporting structure in budgeting, auditing, accounts payable and accounting, but also completed her master's degree in business administration. In her latest role, Caldwell adds the responsibility of loss prevention as a member of the senior management team.
Chris Lyle joined the company in 1989 and worked her way up the ranks while earning an undergraduate degree in accounting. She became assistant controller in 2006 and has played a key role in ensuring that corporate accounting, payroll and accounts payable keep pace with the evolution of technology. Lyle is currently working toward her master's in business administration.
Further, Caldwell and Lyle are heavily involved in the company’s community connection and activity committees, taking leadership roles in both groups.
The largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England, AGNE serves independent retail grocers of every store size and format. The company recently revealed it would break ground on a 105,000-square-foot warehouse, which, when completed at the end of the year, will considerably increase the scope and speed of the products and services it offers to its clients.
