3 Underperforming Food Lion Stores to Close
Food Lion has made the decision to close three underperforming stores in the greater Raleigh, N.C., market, a region where the Delhaize America-owned banner is investing significantly through the remodeling of around 160 stores.
Locations in Dunn and Fayetteville will close on or before April 22, while a store in Goldsboro will remain open until at least August, a Food Lion representative told Progressive Grocer.
Associates at all three affected stores will be offered jobs at other locations as Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion continues to expand in the region through its Easy, Fresh and Affordable remodels. There are no other additional closings occurring at this time, the representative said.
