Whole Foods Sets Date for 365 Store Debut
Whole Foods Market has chosen May 25 as the debut date of its first 365 store in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Positioned as a "quality-meets-value" format amid an increasing number of retail competitors encroaching on its native organic and better-for-you foods turf, the Austin-based chain said its compact 365 stores will feature an edited mix of products "that adhere to the company’s industry-leading quality standards in an environment that’s fun and convenient for shoppers."
The first-ever Silver Lake 365 by Whole Foods Market will host several “Friends of 365” store-within-a-store partnerships – including New York-based vegan restaurant by CHLOE, Allegro Coffee Co., and teaBOT, a new retail platform that provides custom grab-and-go tea in under 30 seconds – all of which will have their own independent retail spaces inside the store.
“With each store, we’re looking to curate a unique experience," said Jeff Turnas, president of 365 by Whole Foods Market. "We’ve really dedicated ourselves to partnering with like-minded companies that are doing new and interesting things in their respective field to bring a truly unique shopping experience that complements our thoughtfully curated selection of foods.”
As PG previously reported, 365 by Whole Foods Market stores will offer online ordering and delivery services through Instacart.
Two additional 365 by Whole Foods Market locations will open in 2016 in Bellevue, Wash., and Portland, Ore. Up to 10 stores are expected to open in 2017.
