WinCo Foods Enters Dallas-Ft. Worth Market

Boise, Idaho-based WinCo Foods said today it will open its first discount supermarkets in Texas -- in the competitive Dallas-Ft. Worth market -- this Thursday, Feb. 6.

The Ft. Worth store is located at 8000 Crowley Lane, and the McKinney store is located at 1800 N. Graves St. Each unit is about 95,000 square feet and includes WinCo's newest decor package, featuring an "efficient, clean feel," along with hundreds of recently introduced WinCo Foods private label products.

The stores also include WinCo's "Wall of Values" at their entries, large produce departments, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood and bakery service departments.

The Dallas-Ft. Worth market includes many leading grocery chains, including Wal-Mart, Kroger, locally owned H-E-B, Aldi, SuperTarget, plus specialty retailers such as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Sprouts and Fresh Market.

Employee-owned WinCo Foods operates 93 stores and four distribution centers in Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Texas. WinCo is also in the process of building a new distribution center in Phoenix, which will service stores in Arizona, southern California and southern Nevada.
