Wilson Farms Becomes Largest Retail Outlet to Offer N.Y. E-Zpass "On-The-Go"

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Convenience store retailer Wilson Farms, Inc. here began selling E-ZPass "On-The-Go" electronic toll payment tags Friday in its 198 Wilson Farms and Sugarcreek stores, making it the largest off-Thruway retail distributor in New York state.

"We understand convenience and speed are important to our customers -- we provide solutions by offering in-store automated teller machines, electronic funds transfer, postage stamps, lottery, money orders, and now E-ZPass On-the-Go electronic tags," said Wilson Farms president and c.e.o. Paul Nanula. "Wilson Farms provides services customers need to make their busy [lives] just that much easier."

The retailer is selling the tags through a newly launched program by the New York State Thruway Authority, "E-ZPass On-the-Go." Under the program, customers may buy prepaid E-ZPass tags worth $25 and activated upon purchase. Customer must then call an 800 number or visit www.ezpassNY.com to register tags within 48 hours of their first use. The On-the-Go tags provide a savings of 10 percent on all Thruway tolls for passenger vehicles, just as the traditional E-ZPass does.

Employing more than 2,500 people, Wilson Farms owns and operates Wilson Farms, Sugarcreek, and Wilson Farms Xpress convenience store and gas station locations across New York state. The stores offer quality farm-fresh produce, meal solutions, freshly made sandwiches, gourmet coffee and a wide selection of other beverages, and an extensive line of grocery, frozen, and dairy products.
