Wild Oats First Tampa Unit Sees Record Grand Opening Sales
BOULDER, Colo. -- Natural and organic retailer Wild Oats Markets, Inc. enjoyed the most successful grand opening in its history when its newest store opened in Tampa, Fla. last week.
The retailer, based here, opened a 37,000-square foot unit featuring a full line of natural and organic foods, dietary supplements, household and body care products, a full-service meat and seafood counter, and fresh bakery and deli departments.
Wild Oats hosted a preview party at the store on Tuesday, April 4, where nearly 3,000 Tampa area residents sampled the offerings while being entertained by music, a book signing, and a cooking demonstration of fresh pasta puttanesca by Tyler Florence, celebrity chef and star of Food Network TV.
Among the products sold in the record breaking grand opening were:
-- 5,960 bottles of Zephyrhills Water
-- 358 golden pineapples
-- 355 mangos
-- 292 pounds of bulk olives
-- 80 pounds of natural sausage
-- 80 wraps and 150 toasted sandwiches from the deli
