Who’ll Be the Next Fourth Fantana?

Consumers who fantasize about being a Fantana now actually have a shot at becoming the fourth member of the effervescent quartet by submitting audition videos to www.Fanta.com. Last summer, the Coca-Cola brand reintroduced The Fantanas: athletic Summer (Orange), energetic Melody (Grape) and fashionable Isabela (Strawberry). In a national search, “wild and spunky free spirit” Lily was selected to represent Fanta Pineapple, but since she’s decided to leave the group to pursue an acting career, the search for her replacement has launched.

Through June 30, 2010, Fanta is holding a national casting call at www.Fanta.com, where Fantana wannabes can submit a one-minute audition video. Entrants must demonstrate their singing and dancing skills and explain why they should get the gig. The winner will be revealed nationally on MTV in late September.

As in last year’s casting call, Fanta fans will play a key role in the selection process of the newest Fantana. Once the submission phase closes, contestants can have their friends and families rate their videos from July 8 to July 29. The 10 semi-finalists will be chosen according to fan ratings and scores from a qualified panel of judges. Fans will then vote for the semi-finalist they believe has the most public appeal, sending the three with the most votes to a final casting call. The grand-prize winner will get a $7,000 cash prize and the opportunity to sign a contract to be featured in a national advertising and marketing campaign as the fourth Fantana. The second- and third-place winners will receive cash prizes of $2,500 and $1,000, respectively.

“Last year, we brought The Fantanas back in an innovative and interactive way that gave fans a chance to directly impact who would become the fourth Fantana,” said Fanta’s Santiago Blanco. “We received great feedback from our fans, so we want to give them the same fun and engaging experience in choosing our next Fantana.”

In 2009, Fanta bowed a reinvigorated look including colorful new packaging, and rebooted Fanta Orange, the No. 1 fruit-flavored sparkling beverage in the United States, with 100 percent natural flavors, which the entire line now features. Among the varieties are Grape, Strawberry, Apple, Peach and Grapefruit, as well as an Orange Zero flavor.

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola is the world’s largest beverage company, offering over 500 sparkling and still brands.
