Whole Foods, Westerly’s to Hold Organic Superfood Cooking Classes

At several Whole Foods Market and Westerly Natural Market locations in New York from March 26 through March 30, people can learn superfood tips from one of the national pioneers on the subject. Los Angeles-based chef Julie Morris, author of “Superfood Cuisine,” will present free classes that will feature live recipe demos, sampling and a Navitas Naturals superfood giveaway.

During the in-store events, Morris will offer nutrition and culinary information on such superfoods as organic maca, cacao, acai, goji berries, camu, chia and goldenberries. The classes are sponsored by Novato, Calif.-based superfood company Navitas Naturals as part of its “Smoothment” interactive multimedia program and “lifestyle movement,” which provides organic smoothie recipes and advice from superfood gurus.

The aim of the Smoothment is to inspire people to boost the nutrition of one meal a day by adding a superfood smoothie into their daily routine. In keeping with this goal, Morris will demonstrate some of her favorite superfood smoothie recipes at the events and Navitas will distribute superfood samples and takeaways.
