Whole Foods to Offer Bulk Goat’s Milk Soap Program
Natural and organic foods retailer Whole Foods Market formed an exclusive partnership with Canus Goat’s Milk offering Canus’ first bulk soap program.
Starting in June, consumers will find this new line of Canus Goat’s Milk soaps in Whole Foods locations throughout the Pacific Northwest and Southwest. The soaps will continue to be available in Florida where the program was successfully piloted last year.
“The program launch in the Whole Foods Florida region last year was such a great success, Whole Foods Market is rolling the program out further into new regions,” said Andree Falardeau, founder of Canus Goat’s Milk. “Consumers are attracted to the eye-catching new display and they appreciate the ability to touch and smell the soaps before purchase.”
These new grab-and-go bars, made with all-natural fresh goat’s milk, are available only at Whole Foods. The program includes several new, all-natural scents, also exclusive to Whole Foods, including: Pomegranate and Bamboo, Orange and Clary Sage, Lemon Verbena, and Lavender Oil. Additional limited-time offerings, such as Apple and Pumpkin Clove, will be available this fall. Holiday bars including Eucalyptus/Cranberry, Sugar Plum and Pear Clove will also become available in November on a seasonal basis.
Each five-once bar retails for around $2.29 or three bars for around $5.49. Price will vary slightly by region. Consumers will wrap their bulk soap selections in Canus-branded bags available at the soap display. The new program reduces packaging at the point of sale and in shipping and fits well with both companies’ strategies to reduce their environmental impact.
According to Canus, the new grab-and-go soaps are made with the same quality as packaged Canus soaps including all-natural fresh goat’s milk and pure vegetable oil. Additionally, the soaps are gluten free, phosphate free, and never tested on animals.
Canus was founded in Quebec, Canada in the mid-nineties and currently has its U.S. headquarters based in Waterbury, Vt. The company markets several complete family skin care lines – Goat’s Milk products for adults, Li’l Goat’s Milk for children and babies, Nature’s Dog for the family dog and Nature by Canus for a woman’s facial wellness. Altogether, Canus produces more than eighty different goat’s milk based skin care products that are distributed in Europe, across North America and in the Far East.
