Wegmans Launches ‘Eat a Rainbow’ Campaign

Wegmans Food Markets has introduced “Eat a Rainbow” a new promotion aimed at getting families to eat a wide variety of food, according to an online column by the grocer’s SVP of consumer affairs, Mary Ellen Burris.

Through May 9, Wegmans shoppers can visit Eat A Rainbow demonstration stations in Wegmans open Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week. The stations, which will mainly be located near the frozen foods section, are decorated with colored balloons not only to help them stand out, but also to indicate what sort of food is being sampled: purple balloons for frozen blueberries on top of waffles, or, as is the case this week, red balloons for marinara sauce (featuring spinach) over frozen ravioli).

Additionally, customers can pick up an Eat A Rainbow handout to keep track of colors eaten each day of the week. On the reverse side, the handout provides ideas for every meal, as well as tips for parents.
