Walmart Honors Hormel Foods

Hormel Foods Corp. received recognition in two categories at Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart’s recent year-end awards ceremony, which took place earlier this month in Orlando, Fla.

Austin, Minn.-based Hormel was honored by the mega-retailer as Dry Grocery Supplier of the Year and Food Supplier of the Year for the 2013 fiscal year. Included in the recognition were Hormel subsidiaries Jennie-O Turkey Store and Farmer John, the company’s specialty foods business unit, and MegaMex, the joint venture between Hormel and Mexican foodmaker Herdez del Fuerte.

In 2012, the company was Walmart Supplier of the Year for overall best supplier performance and partnership.

“To continue to be recognized by Walmart for our partnership and efforts to drive sales is truly appreciated by the entire organization,” said Patrick J. Connor, VP at Hormel and SVP of sales-Walmart. “It’s recognition of our hard-working team and further solidifies our continued growth and alignment strategies with one of our top customers.”
