Tea Time at Brookshire Grocery Via Store Brand
TYLER, Texas -- Lending another meaning to the phrase "Texas tea," Brookshire Grocery Company's manufacturing operations recently rolled out Crystalbrook Pomegranate Green Tea, a beverage loaded with antioxidants.
The bottled beverage hit the refrigerated cases in more than 150 Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods, Ole Foods and ALPS stores in two sizes -- half-gallon jugs and pint-size bottles -- earlier this month.
"Loaded with antioxidants, this tea will appeal to our health-minded customers, but the bonus is that it tastes great, too," said Jim Pitner, v.p.-manufacturing operations for Brookshire Grocery, in a statement. "As the demand has increased for healthy food options, we have responded with new lines of products in nearly every area of our stores."
The beverage contains organic green tea, which is said to be less processed than other teas, thus keeping beneficial antioxidants intact, according to the company. Brookshire's is also touting that pomegranate juice is rich in antioxidants and offers a substantial amount of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as folic acid, potassium, and niacin.
It's also low in calories, as it is lightly sweetened with organic sugar, according to Brookshire's.
Brookshire's Grocery Co. operates supermarkets in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi, plus several manufacturing plants that produce Goldenbrook Farms ice cream, milk, and organic milk, to name a few.
