Strawberry Commission Promotes Christian
WATSONVILLE, Calif. - The California Strawberry Commission here named Chris Christian its new v.p/trade and nutrition, a senior leadership position that will provide administrative oversight in addition to her existing responsibilities for the organization's trade relations and nutrition departments.
Christian, who has been with the commission since 2003, is a produce industry veteran with over 20 years experience in food and agricultural industries. Prior to joining the CSC, she spent 10 years with Fresh Express in management positions ranging from quality and R&D, to marketing/business management.
"Chris's leadership skills and industry expertise make her a natural for this position," said CSC president Mark Murai. "Her outstanding service with the Commission demonstrates her commitment to the California strawberry industry."
Christian holds an MS in food science and B.S. in microbiology from Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (past Chair of Fruit & Vegetable Products Division), the American Dietetic Association and California Women for Agriculture.
