Stew Leonard’s Offering More Children’s Cooking Classes

Stew Leonard’s Newington, Conn., store will hold new cooking classes for children this March and April, at which kids will receive hands-on instruction in preparing various dishes while they learning about measuring, co-operation and food safety.

The price is per child per class, which is payable at the time of registration. Classes will take place in Stew Leonard’s Executive Kitchen on the second floor of the store. Children need not be accompanied by an adult.

Edibles to be featured in the classes are corned beef and Irish-themed cupcakes for St. Patrick’s Day, homemade gourmet truffles, Easter cupcakes, meatloaf and mashed potatoes to accompany a screening of family-friendly film “Despicable Me,” banana creations to add extra fun to Spring Break, sushi, colored eggs for Earth Day and various foodstuffs incorporating coconut.

Registration fees are either $15 to $20 per child, depending on the class.
