Stew Leonard’s Offering Kids’ Activities
Stew Leonard’s Danbury, Conn., store is providing free children’s activities this summer. On select Wednesdays in July and August, children ages 4 to 10 can register for special craft days. The Norwalk, Conn.-based chain’s family movie nights will also run on Thursday nights from July 12 through Aug. 16.
Craft Days will be held in two sessions: 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Attendees are urged to sign up in advance at customer service, as space is limited. Parents don’t have to stay with their children during the activities, which will be held in the store’s Birthday Party Room, and cookies and juice will be served. The schedule is as follows:
- July 11: Sun Visor Decorating
- July 25: Cupcake & Chef Hat Decorating
- Aug. 8: Door Hanger Decorating
- Aug. 22, 2012: Decorate a Brown Paper Lunch Bag, and Ice Cream Social
At the movie nights, which are open to all ages, costumed characters will greet children arriving at 5:30 p.m., a half-hour before the film begins. Families will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis in the store’s Hoedown area, with popcorn and juice provided. The schedule is as follows:
- July 12: “Hoodwinked”
- July 19: “The Reef”
- July 26: “Space Buddies”
- Aug. 2: “Surf’s Up”
- Aug. 9: “Kung Fu Panda”
