ShopRite to Teach Customers About Cholesterol
ShopRite plans to hold Cholesterol Education Events at select store locations throughout September to mark National Cholesterol Education Month. Each no-cost, four-hour session will feature cholesterol screenings and cholesterol education materials, in addition to cooking tips and product samplings to help consumers control their cholesterol levels.
The Cholesterol Education series is part of the Northeast supermarket chain’s comprehensive health-and-wellness programs, which also include such initiatives as placing in-store retail dietitians at select store locations to provide free guidance to shoppers.
National Cholesterol Education Month was created by the Bethesda, Md.-based National Institutes of Health to raise awareness of the risks of high cholesterol and heart disease.
Consumers can find the date and time for the Cholesterol Education Event at their nearest ShopRite by visiting www.shoprite.com/Cnt/cholesterolsept2011.html.
