ShopRite Store to Reopen After Fire

Three months after a devastating fire, the ShopRite store in Ellenville, N.Y., is set to reopen April 7 with a greater variety of offerings and services.

“While the damage caused by the fire was extensive, our commitment to the Ellenville community never wavered,” said Tom Urtz, VP of human resources and community affairs of ShopRite Supermarkets. “We turned this challenge into an opportunity to not only rebuild, but to remake the store and come back better than ever.”

Added Urtz, “Throughout the rebuilding process, the Ellenville community has been tremendously supportive and understanding.”

The store will now have wider aisles, larger departments, an on-site registered dietitian and direct home grocery delivery.

ShopRite is the registered trademark of Wakefern. With nearly 250 ShopRite supermarkets in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland, the banner serves more than 5 million customers each week.
